European Youth and Sport Forum 2008

// Music (Party)

Dear friends of EYSF2008!

I hope you all are doing good after the Forum and maybe even some vacation.

It's a new year with new opportunities! All ready many of you have "paid it forward" as our Danish friend Morten said. And I hope more people will distribute the Pink Paper!

ISCA, as far as I've understood, is working their asses off, again, in order to make the best out of the new forum which will take place in Czech Republic (please correct me if I'm working anybody...!).

So, in order to keep our memories alive I would like to suggest a little poll, where you could vote which song you associate with the Forum.

I would like to suggest one myself, it's "If You're Out There", by John Legend and can be heard here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbcaZ1Uy0mM

Please share a few songs if you'd like to, till about 15th of Februar, and by the end or February, we'll vote it off and see which song got the most votes. Sounds good?

And of course, if you have any photos you'd like to share too, please do so and tell Jiri in the previous post where we all could find them!

Best of luck with your activities in 2009,
and best regards from Norway

Martin

*** UPDATE ***

After the beautiful video by Anne-Flore (http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php#/video/video.php?v=52944629572) I also added "Liberta" by Pep's. Really nice song! Please comment with YOURCE suggestions!

// Arrival times (Event)

Hey guys!
How are you? Are you ready to participate in the EYSF2008 and discover Paris? Sure looks like there's a lot of active participants all ready! :-)

I just wanted to check when people are arriving, maybe we could meet up and take the same bus or metro to the House of Sport together? Do you have a list of when people are arriving where and when, Nela? Or maybe people just could add their times and flights here?

I'll be at CDG at 1020 with SK565 from Copenhagen. Anybody else on that flight?

See you in Paris!

// Get ready for the Pink Paper (Event)

Hi everybody,
My name is Jean-Luc, I am somehow what you would call an ‘EYSF senior’, part of the organizing team for the EYSF2008 and I’ve got some really really important news for you.

As you might have read in the most recent mail from Nela, we strongly encourage you to submit a brief description of an innovative project or initiative that you or your organisation have implement recently.
The EYSF2008 will provide you with the opportunity to meet other interesting people running exciting projects within the field of youth and sport. During the forum you will be encouraged to share information among each other, inspire and get inspired. But it doesn’t stop there.
The forum will provide the opportunity to get in contact with decision makers both from the GO and NGO sector and you want to use the occasion to communicate what you are doing to a large community.

This year the EYSF will not only make policy recommendations to the decision makers, but we want to display the initiatives and the commitment of young people from all around Europe and show what YOU are doing to positively impact communities.

Therefore it is essential that we receive a brief description of your work and most relevant initiative taken so that we can include it in the PINK PAPER. The PINK PAPER will be a kind of inspirational catalogue for all participants in the forum, for your friends and colleagues, your organisations, policy makers and the large community involved in youth and sports around Europe and above.

We need to make this a strong PINK PAPER and therefore we need you and your experience. Please ready carefully through the document // Info on Pink Paper // and get back to us as soon as possible and latest before the 26/11/2008.

Let’s show Europe how young people CHANGE the world of TODAY.
I am so much looking forward to see you bright people in Paris.

Best regards,
Jean-Luc Frast

// suggestion of sport activity (Training)

Hi everybody,

In the infomail 2, Nela suggested doing sports activities.

I don't know if somebody is interested, but if you want I can offer to you the possibility to play Kin Ball. This big pink ball comes from Québec and this activity is proposed to children by USEP.

You can see photos and videos of a seesion with primary teacher with this link:

http://www.fol71.org/Module-USEP-PE2-Temps-1.html

To play we have to be more than 12 and to have a gymnasium (is it possible?)

Thanks to say me if you are intersted as soon as possible.

See you later

// Adding your person to the map (Event)

Hey all!

Jiri told me yesterday a thing that I though would be good to mention.
In order to show your person in the (google)map on the front page, you need to add your personal basic, add a picture, add your location and your contact info.
This is also good info to know if you want anybody to contact you after the Forum. Remember to keep it up-to-date!

And to answer Sorins question about why so few people are in the participant list, is probably because they haven't registrered as Nela recommened us to do in both the first and second info pack e-mail.

Thanks to all who contribute!

See you all in Paris,

Martin

Hello to all!

I am happy for this initiative of communication between us, before the training. Till now, yource seems for me very limitated in options, since i don't know how to reply to other posts ... and i think i deleted somebody else's comment :)

Since it is a good idea to organise this blogs in such a platform, i think we could give some feedback to the administrators of yource, so they can use it to create even a better platform, because i really caught my years in this thing trying to figure out how it works :)

I am really looking forward seing everybody in Paris and having a great time! :)

Hi.

I'm still trying to get a COMMENT added, not a new post :D

When I open those comment(s), I don't have any box or anything, where I could write on! Neither is there a button "add a new comment" or so... I also asked my friend to help me, but he couldn't find it! So is there any possibilieties, that as long as I'm logged in as youth, I can't add a comment?

The White Paper on Sport

The European Commission adopted its first comprehensive initiative on sport. The White Paper aims at providing strategic orientation on the role of sport in the EU. It recognises the important social and economic roles of sport while respecting the requirements of EU law. The White Paper is the result of extensive consultations over the past two years with sport organisations such as the Olympic Committees and sport federations, as well as with Member States and other stakeholders, including an online consultation.

// EYSF 2008 (Event)

European Youth and Sport Forum 2008

The Forum will take place from the 30th December to 6th of December 2008 in the French capital, Paris. Famous for its Eiffel tower, its architecture and often referred to as a city of romance, Paris will enable youth to show their true colours in sport.

The forum will take place in the ‘House of Sport’, residence of the French Olympic and sport committee located next to the ‘Cité Universitaire’ (the University city) an ideal environment, vibrant and filled with youth energy.

The EYSF 2008 will demonstrate how youth and sport put the spirit and the words of the white paper into practice, whilst uncovering further trends. The forum will additionally, act as a platform where good practices from local, national and European levels will be identified and discussed. These ‘best practice examples’ will be collected to form the ‘pink paper’ which will be a catalogue gathering information on various initiatives and will serve as impetus for GOs and NGOs to join these efforts in a political and structural sense.

The EYSF2008 will deliver much more than recommendations, it will deliver options, solutions for citizens, volunteers, professionals and decision makers to put into action what has been formulated by the “White Paper”. On the final day of the EYSF2008 the ‘pink paper’ will be presented to French and European political institutions and representatives. It is hoped that the recommendations will influence the future European and national agendas and be discussed during the Czech Republic EU presidency at the next sport directors meeting and youth ministers meeting. Through networking, participants can learn about different projects and programmes that may assist them with their work through promoting active citizenship and facilitate future European integration. In this regard it will be essential to focus on the European youth, sport and cultural programmes and the impact that they could have on civil society in the coming years.
